New York, DB – Bupati Bulukumba, Andi Muchtar Ali Yusuf, tengah berada di Amerika Serikat dalam rangka urusan pribadi sambil menjajaki peluang bisnis untuk Kabupaten Bulukumba.
Kebetulan saat bersamaan, Wali Kota Makassar juga kunjungan ke sana (Amerika Serikat), sehingga dalam beberapa agenda Wali Kota Makassar, Bupati Andi Utta juga ikut dalam kegiatan tersebut.
Misalnya kedua pemimpin daerah di Sulsel ini, sudah bertemu Wayne Forrest,
President of the American Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Asosiasi Bisnis US-Indonesia), dalam rangka membicarakan peluang ekspor dari Bulukumba ke New York, termasuk ikan asin, ikan tuna, dan ikan cakalang. Kebutuhan ikan di New York sangat besar, sehingga peluang ini akan ditindaklanjuti Bupati Bulukumba.
“Kebetulan di New York juga, ada putra asli Bulukumba, Ustaz Muhammad Syamsi Ali (Muhammad Shamsi Ali), Imam Masjid Islamic Center of New York, yang menjadi mediator dalam pertemuan tersebut,” ungkap Andi Ayatullah Ahmad, Kabid Humas Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika (Diskominfo) Kabupaten Bulukumba, Minggu (24/7/2022).
Salah satu tindak lanjut dari pertemuan tersebut, tambah Ulla sapaan akrab Andi Ayatullah Ahmad, Kabupaten Bulukumba diminta mengikuti pameran dagang hasil perikanan di New York pada Maret 2023 mendatang.
“Bulukumba disiapkan venue untuk pameran hasil perikanan Bulukumba yang bisa dipasarkan di New York,” terangnya.
Sebelumnya juga, Andi Utta bersama Wali Kota Makassar berkunjung ke Konsulat Jenderal Republik Indonesia di New York. Keduanya diterima Konsulat Jenderal RI di New York, Amerika Serikat, Dr Arifi Saiman.
Andi Ulla menyampaikan setelah balik dari Amerika Serikat, Andi Utta akan ke Jepang untuk check up kesehatan sebagaimana yang menjadi kebiasaannya selama ini, dilakukan sebelum menjadi Bupati Bulukumba.
Untuk diketahui, keberangkatan Bupati Bulukumba ke luar negeri sudah mengantongi izin dari Kementerian Dalam Negeri. Izin diberikan dari 17 sampai 30 Juli 2022. Sementara, untuk seluruh biaya atas perjalanan, akomodasi dan biaya check up-nya menggunakan dana pribadi. (RLS)
